I got the chance to fish Louisana Marsh and the 2 and 3rd of Jan. I met Ryan Hawks at Woodlawn Plantation on the 2nd to go out with guide Alec Griffen.marsh_2010_002__Large_.jpg

We had cold windy conditions which made finding the fish very hard.  Alec worked hard all day and we did see a few nice fish.  We ended up landing one fish apiece, thanks to Alec getting us in the rite area given the conditions.  The next day we went out with Rich Waldner and had similar conditions, we had a couple of shots at very nice fish, one hooked and lost.

Rich did a great job getting us to areas that had potential for big fish. These are 2 of the best guides in the area so I'm happy with the results, I landed my biggest red to date 18lbs. I'm still looking for that 30lbr.

All the more reason to go again this year.
